The Bards of the Renaissance era were entertainers to great noblemen and noblewomen, and to even greater kings and queens. They were story tellers, poets, writers, actors, entertainers, and great speakers. Their talents were spoken of from town to town and people came from far away to watch them perform.

Workshop Master LEO always loved to watch a good Bard at work, and so did his apprentice Melzi. In fact, Melzi loved their performances so much that he started a new apprentice Workshop to inspire more young Bards to find their love for the performing arts.

The Bards of Melzi: Creative Communication is a workshop devoted to bringing communication to life. Step into a world of storytelling, theatre, poetry, and song. Train in the arts of the Bard alongside Melzi and our master instructors. Each of Melzi’s workshops builds a foundation of essential skills for years of learning success. This workshop will build and develop campers' abilities and confidence in communication. Through games, activities and exercises student grow and expand in reading, writing, and the spoken word.

Along the way, we will:

• Practice reading comprehension

• Explore the concepts of plot and theme

• Perform and examine dialogue to that develops character and plot

• Present brief speeches

• Develop cooperative teamwork skills

• Create an original shared story with a group of friends

• Learn from each other and from our experienced instructors

• Thrive with the care and encouragement of a supportive community

• Make lots of new friends!
