3 Workshop subject rotations each day
Optional 2 Workshop half-day, 9AM-1PM
Students entering grades K - 2 join the Guild of Melzi, named for Leonardo da Vinci’s favorite apprentice, Francesco Melzi. During the Renaissance apprentices grew through experience, learning and innovating under the direction of their master teachers – now your campers can be an apprentice in a whole new kind of workshop!
Workshops in the Guild of Melzi work to develop a strong academic foundation for each camper by building their knowledge and skills in important fundamental areas. In addition to the workshops primary learning objectives, all Melzi Workshops campers learn to practice the important skills of group work, peer support, and character development. Each week, the Guild of Melzi focuses on a specific creative and academic theme. Each day of the week, campers rotate through 3 one-hour workshops that each focus on a different learning area within the theme.
Example: the Workshop “Bard’s of Melzi” is focused on developing skills and confidence in communication. Each day, student will rotate through three communications related academic workshops including Creative Writing, Storytelling (Public Speaking), and Reading Analysis/Comprehension. All done through fun, games, and social activities.
