Camp Brainy Bunch Reviews

“The staffers were very welcoming to my daughter, who was having some sudden onset shyness/clinginess issues this summer -- but after one day she LOVED the camp, loved the content of the camp, loved the staff... awesome. She is still performing (and refining) her story, asking us for 'helpful comments' to make her story better, and creating new stories. In addition to being great fun, this camp had an academic component that I think will be super valuable going forward. My daughter is paying attention to elements of stories in new ways and also understands that things sometimes need work and improvement before it's 'done'. The perfect amount of fun and quality educational experience. Thank you! I can't wait to sign her up for one or more Brainy Bunch camps next summer!”

"My daughter attended Camp Brainy Bunch for the first time last summer and absolutely loved it! She thrived and excitedly gave me daily updates on the topics, progress, exercises, and games. It was a warm and caring environment, encouraging kids to stand in front of the others to read what they wrote. It is the perfect balance of academic, intellectual, and creative challenges and pure fun that Camp Brainy Bunch stands for and makes us want to come back every year.

"My son attended two weeks of Camp Brainy Bunch in the Los Gatos location: Writing and Engineering. Both weeks he reported that he has an "awesome" time and when I asked how each week compared to similar camps, he reported that Camp Brainy Bunch was better than the ones he's attended in the past. As for my experience, I found that there's been good communication. I've gotten email and phone reminders and any email I send gets responded to the same day."

"[My daughter] loved her time at camp! She was excited to share her "broadcasts" every evening after camp. This says a lot because she doesn't always have much to share after other camps other than they were fine. I loved that she got some writing and public speaking practice in a format that was fun and didn't feel like schoolwork to her. She also got to think creatively which she enjoyed. The content was unique. Overall, we both loved it and it was a very positive experience."

We sent our son to the public speaking for 1st-3rd grade group, and he and we absolutely loved it. When I picked him up the first day, he loved it so much that he was upset I picked him up too early. During early morning and aftercare, the instructor was so good and playing chess, checkers, and other games with them. Every day, they practiced their skit and on Friday they performed it for the parents. My son, who has been a bit stage-shy (which was why we wanted to send him to a public speaking camp), was really upset on Saturday thinking that he wouldn't get to go to Camp Brainy Bunch again. Fortunately, we signed him up for engineering. I wish we signed him up for more. We have our son in all types of camps each summer (Legarza, Galileo, ect.), and this one rates among one of the best.

"My two girls are loving Camp Briany Bunch this summer! Lots of fun activities, collaboration, and leadership skills opportunities. The counselors are responsible and good role models for the kids. We're impressed.

"The staff were thoughtful, intelligent, and caring. I was impressed with the group. I am glad my son enjoyed the program. Additionally, I appreciated that it encouraged him to learn to read texts critically, to reason about them, and to present his ideas in a group."

"My daughter really enjoyed her 'Creative Writing' with Camp Brainy Bunch at the Orinda Academy. She liked her counselors, the variety of activities and she found new friends :) She feels her story writing really improved. We'll be back next year."

“My two kids attended the engineering week of Camp Brainy Bunch in Sunnyvale. One of my kids in the 1st-3rd grade group and one in the 4th-6th grade group. Both loved their camp experience and were really taken with the engineering projects. I loved the way the staff interacted with all of the kids in the program. As a family, with two working parents, our kids do a lot of camps. We didn't know anyone who had ever gone to CBB, so we took a chance on sending our kids, and we are so glad we did. Schedules permitting, we'll be back next year for more!”

"This is the first time my 9-year-old twin girls went to Camp Brainy Bunch. They signed up for Leadership, Mock Trial, and Writing. After the first day at Leadership camp, they told me that the camp was awesome. The instructors made the classes fun so they were really focused on learning the topic and participated in all the discussions. I was very impressed that they recorded each kid's presentation and shared the video with the parents. It is funny - now that they learned how to debate, we debate on what to do on the weekends. We will go back again next summer."

"The staff are very enthusiastic, caring, and make the camp really, really fun for the children. It's probably the most memorable summer camp she has ever been to and she could not stop talking about how much she misses the teachers. She's already requesting for the same camp next year, and is inspired to be a lawyer one day."
