Matthew Fraser: CEO & Executive Director
Matthew Fraser and several college friends founded Education Unlimited in 1993 with the vision of teaching students critical thinking skills in a fun learning environment. During his tenure as Executive Director Education Unlimited has grown from a single program with 34 students in its first year to roughly 50 sessions of camp on about a dozen college campuses, with nearly 2,000 students attending each summer some twenty years later!
Chelsea Toller, MA: Director of Elementary Education
Chelsea Toller is a teacher and administrator with over 20 years of experience. She has worked as a classroom teacher, Bilingual Teacher on Special Assignment, School Reform Coach, District English Language Development Coordinator, County Teacher Trainer, and Vice Principal. Chelsea’s work in education leadership has been honored by the United Administrators of Oakland Schools, and she has received the Honoring Our Own Award from the Oakland Unified School District. Her years of experience across all facets of elementary education are invaluable to her role as the director of our elementary division, Camp Brainy Bunch. Chelsea has a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Santa Cruz in Community Studies and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Sonoma State University.
Audrey Lee, MA: Chief Academic Officer
Audrey Lee is a teacher and administrator with 20 years of experience, most recently as the Director of Curriculum and Educational Technology for the Martinez Unified School District; a role which she held for six years. In addition, Audrey is an expert on Common Core Standards for the State of California and therefore brings an essential combination of skills to our organization; the ability to strike a balance in the development of curriculum that is creative and engaging, and that is also an enriching supplement to standard school year learning. Audrey holds a Master’s Degree in Education from UC Berkeley. She has received several awards throughout her career, including Curriculum & Instruction Administrator of the Year by the ACSA in 2014 and Educator of the Year by the Martinez Chamber of Commerce in 2014.
Nermin Kamel, MA: Director of Admissions
Nermin Kamel came to Camp Brainy Bunch after several years as a school administrator, most recently as a high school principal. Nermin earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science with a minor in Business from Whittier College and later received a Master's Degree from California State University at Fullerton in Educational Administration. She taught English and speech/debate for 10 years at La Mirada High School in Southern California before going into school administration. In addition, for 13 years, Nermin served as the Vice-President of the California High School Speech Association directing the California High School Speech and Debate State Championships for nearly 2,000 students and coaches from throughout the state of California.
Jenny Herbert, MBA: CFO
After directing and teaching at Education Unlimited summer programs for many years, Jenny joined Education Unlimited's management team in 2003. Her primary responsibilities are to manage the business and financial operations of the company. Jenny earned her MBA with honors from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and is an honors graduate of Stanford University, where she received the Deans’ Award for Academic Accomplishment. Jenny’s academic research, focusing on children’s attitudes about reading and math, has been published in the Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology and presented at the meetings of the American Educational Research Association and the National Science Teachers Association.
Adrienne Schell: Marketing Manager
Adrienne Schell has 10 years of experience in account and project management in retail marketing and the advertising specialty industry. While on the vendor side of the retail marketing realm, Adrienne managed large-scale initiatives for Nike for over 6 years. With this experience, she brings knowledge in brand management and recognition, schedule and budget management, and general project management skills critical to the growth of our marketing efforts. In addition to her background with project management, Adrienne brings her experience as a freelance writer and local blogger to the team, assisting in copywriting and editing for marketing needs, as well as social media management. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Syracuse University.
